Accessible Park Amenities

According to 2017 figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, Dallas County, Iowa’s estimated population is 87,235 residents. Approximately four percent of those residents under the age of 65 have a disability; this means nearly 3,500 Dallas County residents are in need of accessible recreational amenities.

As the City of Waukee develops its plan for the Waukee Youth Sports Complex to be completed alongside the Waukee Community School District’s second high school, the City is setting aside land for the new Miracle League of Waukee Ball Field and Play Area as well as an all-inclusive fishing pier.

The Waukee Betterment Foundation is taking on the role of fundraising for this important and unique project.
